GENEVA – The Valley Industrial Association, based in Geneva, will host its annual Manufacturer’s Collaboration Conference Sept. 7 at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, officials announced in a news release.
The Making Chips manufacturing podcast will be featured at the conference, the release stated.
This year, the association is marking its 115th year in the Fox Valley, the release stated.
Its mission is to serve local manufacturers as a silent partner, helping them to grow their businesses, which are essential to making the Fox Valley economy thrive, the release stated.
Earlier this year, the association named Kathy Gilmore as president, the release stated.
Gilmore started as the association’s membership manager, the release stated.
“We are knocking down walls, doubling down on innovation and opportunities, and could not be more excited about what’s around the corner,” Gilmore stated in the release.
Some of the noteworthy contributions by the association to the Fox Valley area include starting the process to bring Waubonsee Community College and Fermilab to the area and helping to establish the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora, the release stated.
The association was founded in 1902 to provide resources to the local manufacturers in Kane County, the release stated.
As times and needs have changed, so has its focus, which is now to provide resources, education and networking opportunities for members in Kane, Kendall, DeKalb and DuPage counties, as well as the greater Chicagoland area, the release stated.
