Police seek information on St. Charles armed robbery suspect

ST. CHARLES — Police are asking for the public's assistance in finding a man suspected of robbing another man at gunpoint the night of Sept. 11 in St. Charles.

Around 9:53 p.m. Sept. 11, police responded to the parking lot of Fox Run Apartments, 115 Walnut Dr., for a report of an armed robbery, according to a news release from the St. Charles Police Department. A 42-year-old man reported that another man had approached him while he was walking to his car. The alleged robber then demanded the other man's wallet while holding a silver semi-automatic handgun. The man gave up his wallet and was not injured.

The reported offender fled east on Walnut Drive. Apartment complex residents reported seeing a man who matched his description running east in the area of Walnut Drive and South 18th Street, but he remained at large as of the morning of Sept. 12. Members of the Kane County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit responded as well but were unsuccessful in locating him.

The man is described as 25 years old and 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with the hood up and blue jeans. Anyone with information on the suspect should call the St. Charles Police Department's investigative division at 630-377-4435.
