The St. Charles holiday season is near, and the best way to spread holiday cheer is to shop locally at a store in the area.
Gym Chic is a local women’s clothing store at 151 S. First St. in downtown St. Charles that sells a variety of women’s workout apparel and trending pieces that fit all shapes and sizes.
So why is it important to shop locally?
Daniel Orozco, who is an employee at Gym Chic, comments on the topic: “Most people that shop here live in the community, and the people that live in the community are making a contribution towards the town when they shop locally. At Gym Chic, for every $100 you spend, $68 stays in the community."
As you can see, shopping at your local stores not only promotes the store you’re shopping at, but also keeps those unique businesses that we love and rely on so much a part of our community.
Speaking of local – calendars start to fill as December gets near, so here are a few holiday events we would love for you to attend.
The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce Holiday Party will be at Dunham Woods Riding Club in Wayne, sponsored by Solutions Networking Corp. and Koehler Koehler Inc.
This picture-perfect setting will be wonderful for an evening filled with networking, appetizers and Christmas music. The Holiday Party – hosted by the Women’s Business Council – will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 please join us.
The Young Professionals Council will also be hosting its ugly holiday sweater mixer. The fifth annual Ugly Sweater Holiday Party will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Dec. 14 at Main Street Pub in St. Charles. Eat, drink and show us your ugliest holiday sweater.
There is no charge for chamber members; cost is $10 for non-members. There will be a fun networking game to determine the ugliest sweater. We hope to see local young professionals and all those “young at heart” professionals out for this fun evening.
