Crimes reported to Kane County Sherrif's Office

• A ComEd employee reported Feb. 13 that a vehicle was found crashed into a utility pole at 48W700 block of Main Street, Kaneville Township. According to reports, the vehicle was registered to an owner in Wisconsin who said her boyfriend was driving.

• Jarred D. Pessina-Lester, 20, whom reports state is homeless, was charged Feb. 21 with failure to report a change of address as a sex offender. As a homeless person, he is required to register every seven days, reports stated.

• A cell phone, charger and Miller-Lite umbrella valued at $265 were reported stolen Feb 25 from a vehicle in the 6N900 block of Wabash Avenue, St. Charles Township.

• The cab of a 2006 Freightliner tractor worth $55,000 was reported burned Feb. 26 in the 7N400 block of Route 25, St. Charles Township. The driver’s seat of the cab was set on fire by unknown means, as police could not detect the presence of an accelerant, reports stated. At the same address, a 1999 Freightliner tractor that was being leased was stolen The owner had put $5,000 down and was paying $1,000 a month in a lease on it, reports stated.

• A resident in the 0S600 block of Grengs Lane, Blackberry Township, reported Feb. 26 that he was being harassed by telephone by a former business partner who claimed he was owed $20,000. The resident wanted the calls documented, reports stated.

• Two fog lights valued at $150 each and a dip sprayer valued at $170 were reported stolen from a garage in the 40W000 block of Main Street Road, Batavia Township. The victim told police the fog lights were made specifically for a Mustang and there was no forced entry into the garage, reports stated.

• Michael A. Torrez, 23, of the 100 block of Ann Street, Elgin, was charged Feb. 15 with possession of drug paraphernalia at the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles Township. A pipe was discovered in his coat pocket during the security scan into the courthouse, reports stated. Torrez told police he was in a hurry that day and did not remove the pipe.

• Juan F. Sanchez, 50, of the 700 block of Considine Road, Geneva, was charged Feb. 22 with domestic battery.

• The father of a 13-year-old boy reported a suspicious incident Feb. 23 in which a UPS delivery truck driver spoke to his son as he walked home from school, reports stated. The driver told the boy not to walk alone because it is dangerous and he could be kidnapped or attacked, reports stated. Sheriff’s deputies will contact UPS to try to identify the driver, reports stated.
