GENEVA – FONA International President Amy McDonald received an inaugural Great Place to Work for All Leadership Award, the company announced in a news release.

McDonald was recognized for consistently playing a critical role in helping FONA deliver strategic growth and helping to create a high-trust culture, the release stated.

“We are thrilled for Amy and for our FONA family under her leadership,” Joe Slawek, FONA CEO and chairman, stated in the release. “This award acknowledges something that so many of us know already – that Amy is an incredible leader in every sense of the word.

"She guides and pushes for growth and innovation like only a true visionary can," Slawek said. "Her focus, her tireless enthusiasm and her passion have truly helped make FONA a Great Place to Work for All.”

The inaugural award event took place March 7 in San Francisco on the eve of the 107th International Women's Day on March 8, the release stated.

McDonald was one of 77 women leaders honored from companies on Fortune's lists of the 100 Best Companies to Work For and Best Workplaces for Women, the release stated.

This year, FONA was named the 44th workplace for women – of any size company – and the 43rd workplace in the nation overall among medium-sized companies by Fortune and Great Place to Work, the release stated.

FONA also was named the No. 1 medium-sized workplace in the Chicago area by Great Place to Work, the release stated.

In announcing the honorees, Great Place to Work CEO Michael Bush said that being a great workplace for every employee maximizes revenue, profit and growth.

"We are excited to celebrate the achievements of some of the top women leaders at America's greatest companies," Bush stated in the release. "[They] are leading the conversation in workplace equality and are demonstrating to corporate America … how to become more diverse, more innovative and great places to work for all.”
