ST. CHARLES – With the motto of "addictive food … creative brews," it's not hard to see why Tap House Grill just celebrated its 10th anniversary on the western edge of St. Charles.
The bar boasts 40 beers on draft, General Manager Rachel Kowalewski said, noting it has added a few different styles from its own Half Day Brewing, which opened about two years ago in Lincolnshire under the same ownership as the eight Tap House Grill locations. A large chalkboard tracks the latest rotation of beers.
"Nearly 95 percent of our menu is all prepared from scratch," Kowalewski said, right down to the Caesar salad dressing.
A favorite among the staff recommendations is the crispy beer-battered chicken melt, she said, adding that the 1-pound BLT is a hit as are the Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds.
