ELBURN – For the third year, Bob Jass Chevrolet in Elburn brings together owners of all makes and models of classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and custom cars. This year’s annual Classic Car Cruise-In will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 9 in the dealership lot at 300 S. Main St.

“The majority of the cars showcased at the Cruise-In are from the Fox Valley Corvette Club,” said Emily Darrow, internet manager for Bob Jass Chevrolet. “And of course we would love as many classic Chevys as possible, but we encourage all makes and models. We hope to fill up the entire north lot of the dealership, which can fit between 60 and 75 cars.”

Darrow said they prefer mostly classic cars registering for the event, but welcome new cars as well. She said some popular cars in past shows included a 1970 Datsun 240Z, a 1965 Pontiac GTO, a 1959 Cadillac DeVille, a 1970 Ford F-100 Ranger, a 1969 Camaro and a 1969 Impala.

“The event is not a competition, but the attendees do get an opportunity to vote for their favorite car,” Darrow said. “And trophies will be awarded for the top three favorite cars.”

New this year at the Cruise-In will be a huge assortment of local businesses with tents set up promoting and selling items. Darrow said some of the vendors include realtors, a yoga studio and essential oils sales. There are still a few vendor spots open. If any local business is interested in participating in this free event, contact Darrow at 630-448-6112.

“Vendors are only required to bring their own tent and chairs,” Darrow said. “Otherwise they can sell and promote their business as they see fit.”

The dealership is hoping the community brings the whole family out for this free, family friendly event. The event will also feature Ream’s Meat Market who will have its sausage stand open with brats and hotdogs available for purchase. The dealership will provide complimentary chips, drinks and dessert.

Those interested in registering a vehicle should call Darrow at 630-448-6112 for more information.
