Criminal charges filed

• Harassment by electronic communication was reported May 22 in the 700 block of Carlisle Street, Batavia.

• Identity theft was reported as fraud May 23 in the 2800 block of Weaver Lane, Batavia.

• Fraud was reported May 23 at Smashburger, 842 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• The theft of $3 was reported at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 Main St., Batavia, according to a May 23 report.

• Identity theft was reported as fraud May 24 in the 2000 block of Gillenwater Street, Batavia.

• Someone spray painted graffiti on a cement wall at the Randall 15 IMAX theater, 550 N. Randall Road, Batavia, according to a May 24 report of criminal defacement.

• Graffiti was reported May 25 in Hawk's Bluff Park, 950 Twin Elms Lane, Batavia.

• The illegal use of an account number was reported as credit card fraud May 25 in the 200 block of Douglas Road, Batavia.

• Two DVD players valued at $134.98 were reported stolen but recovered May 25 from Target, 115 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• Johnathan Vazquez, 27, of the 100 block of Bartson Lane, Aurora, was charged May 25 with retail theft greater than $300 at Target, 115 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• Assorted clothing items were stolen from Walmart, 801 N. Randall Road, Batavia, according to a May 25 report of retail theft.

• An email breach was reported as fraud May 25 in the 1100 block of Edwards Drive, Batavia.

• People were harassed and photographed with a cellphone including their vehicle and registration, according to a May 26 report of harassment at the 7-Eleven, 710 E. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

• A counterfeit $20 bill was received at Great Clips, 136 W. Wilson St., Batavia, according to a May 26 report of deceptive practices.

• Amerigo M. Romano, 58, of the 1800 block of Fargo Boulevard, Geneva, was charged May 26 with driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, following too closely and failure to signal, at North Randall Road and West Fabyan Parkway, according to a May 26 police report.

• Extensive damage to the interior of a vehicle was reported May 26 in the 100 block of Washington Avenue, Batavia.

• Counterfeit currency was reported as fraud May 27 in the 1400 block of East Wilson Street, Batavia.

• A car was damaged, according to a May 27 report of criminal damage to property in the 200 block of Island Avenue, Batavia.

• Fraudulent activity on a credit report was reported as insurance fraud May 28 in the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle, Batavia.

• Mary C. McFarland, 21, of the 400 block of Ridgelawn Trail, Batavia, was charged May 29 with retail theft greater than $300 at Target, 115 N. Randall Road, Batavia.

• James E. Hurley, 52, of the 400 block of Elm Street, Batavia, was charged May 29 with driving under the influence of alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle, in the 1900 block of McKee Street, Batavia, according to a police report.
