MAPLE PARK – In the middle of a gym stripped of both bleachers and a court, the No. 1 priority of new Kaneland athletic director Dave Rohlman becomes obvious.
"I think we're standing in one of the immediate things we have to work on," Rohlman said laughing as he gestured to the completely torn-up gym. "We probably will not have this quite ready by the start of the school – the floor should be ready but the bleachers may not be ready. Between the lighting and the floor and the bleachers and we're going to change out the scoreboards as well, and eventually we'll need a new boys basketball coach as well. So there's a lot of changes going on."
Rohlman officially took over as the Knights' athletic director on Monday, but he said he's been working in the capacity alongside outgoing athletic director Peter Goff for a couple weeks to get a head start.
