Batavia section of Route 25 closed by water main break

Water main break floods pavement

BATAVIA – A water main break has made a section of Route 25 temporarily impassible, according to a new release sent just before 5 p.m. Aug. 6 from the city of Batavia.

The Batavia Public Works Department is responding to a water main break in the 500 to 600 block of South River Street (Route 25). Because of the large amount of water pooling across the roadway and the required repairs, the road is going to be temporarily impassible, according to the release. One should plan to take alternate travel routes in and out of the area for the time being, utilizing Batavia Ave (Route 31) to the west, and Prairie Street/Hart Road to the east.
