ST. CHARLES – The St. Charles Police Department is investigating a suspicious incident involving a child.

At approximately 8:10 a.m. Jan. 8, a child was waiting for her bus at the corner of North 6th Avenue and Cedar Avenue when a white man in his 50s walked up to the child and offered her a one dollar bill, according to a news release from the department.

The man did not ask for anything from the child and did not attempt to touch her, the release stated. After the child refused to take the dollar, the male subject placed the dollar on the ground in front of the child and walked away without further incident, according to the release.

The male subject was last seen wearing an orange winter hat, a dark colored coat and blue jeans, the release stated.
