[Al Alambre combines Slagel Family Farm skirt steak, chorizo, melted Chihuahua cheese, bell peppers, sautéed red onions and tomatillo-avocado salsa, and is served with tortillas.]
From the appetizers, we selected the spinach salad, which burst with fresh flavors and was served warm. It was crowned with thin slices of ripe, grilled pear, complemented by shavings of nutty Manchego, a cheese that originated in the La Mancha region of Spain. Caramelized and crunchy almond slivers added their own rich flavor to the salad dressed with a lightly tangy vinaigrette.
Other appetizers range from a trio of guacamole recipes to pink peppercorn seared yellow fin ahi tuna.
After the superb salad, we were happy to follow our server's next suggestion of Ala Papa Brava, listed among a trio of sides including creamy corn and poblano rice with pomegranate seeds; and Mexican street vendor style roasted corn with mayonnaise, epazote, onions, cheese and chile.
