BLACKBERRY TOWNSHIP – A doorbell security camera captured images of two teen girls stealing outdoor sofa pillows and a metal lantern, according to Kane County Sheriff’s reports.

The items, valued at $110, were taken June 3 from the front porch of a house in the 39W500 block of South Hyde Park in the Mill Creek subdivision in Blackberry Township near Geneva, according to reports.

The doorbell security camera showed footage of a dark colored vehicle pulling up in front of the house at 12:18 a.m.

Two white females emerged and quickly ran up to the front porch, took the items and ran back to the car which continued westbound, the report stated.

The first suspect is brunette, 16 to 19 years old, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5, 100 to 110 pounds and wearing a purple belly shirt with gray sweat pants, reports stated.

The second suspect is blond, also 16 to 19 years old, 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5, 110 to 120 pounds and wearing a blue belly shirt with blue sweat pants, the report stated.

The resident told police she did not recognize either of them, but posted the video to the Mill Creek Community Facebook page, reports stated.

Others in the neighborhood told her they also had missing property from their porches, reports stated.

The resident told police that if they are found, she would sign complaints against them, reports stated.

In a similar report, two lawn chair cushions valued at $30 were reported stolen June 2 off the front porch of a house in the 39W500 block of South Hyde Park, also in Mill Creek.

Also, six multi-colored solar landscape lights valued at $4 each were reported stolen June 3 from a front porch in the 39W100 block of East Mallory Drive, also in Mill Creek.

Deputies noted in their report that it is not certain that these thefts are related.
