Exciting changes at the Batavia Chamber of Commerce

Summer. It’s the season to lay back and take it easy, right?

Not so at the Batavia Chamber of Commerce. Instead, we’ve been hustling to embrace new roles as all three of the staff positions now have different faces.

The roller coaster of change began when the position for chamber president and CEO position became available. Margaret Perreault skillfully stepped into the void, after serving the chamber for over four years as the membership development specialist.

One of Margaret’s first tasks after taking over the reins in late June was to search for a new membership coordinator. I accepted the part-time position and started in July. I’ve been a member of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce since 2008. Patti Anselme joined the staff in early August as the part-time special events coordinator.

Despite the newness in all our roles, a strong bond and momentum is building as each of us tackles tasks that play to our strengths. Patti has extensive event experience as a part-owner of Gatherings By Design, a business that specializes in event planning, décor and floral design. The Batavia resident is the co-chair for the active Batavia Women in Business.

I’ve taken over many communications duties as my background is in content writing and public relations. After serving for years as an ambassador with the chamber, I’m now managing this active and dedicated group of members. Along with these roles, I’m working toward membership engagement and recruitment.

Margaret is full of great ideas for the Batavia Chamber of Commerce to serve businesses and build our community relationships. Between the three of us, we have nearly 80 years of experiencing all that Batavia has to offer. We take it to heart when we say that “we are in business for your business” and are excited to do our part to see Batavia and the greater Fox Valley grow and prosper.
