ABOUT: AfterImage Film Festival organizers will show trailers of all the independent films that will be presented at the festival in September in St. Charles. Local Chicago films include South by Southwest Audience Award Winner “Saint Frances,” as well as the short films “Runner” and “SEARED: The Journey of a Chef.” There are no advance tickets for the preview, with seating on a first-come basis at the 80-seat theater. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. There will be a raffle to win two complimentary tickets to a film of one’s choice during the festival. The inaugural edition of the film festival will consist of over 20 films, including feature-length documentaries and narratives, documentary short films and narrative short films.
GENEVA CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE

ABOUT: Geneva Concours D'Elegance is preceded by special events, all part of the fundraising that this year benefits the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center in Geneva. The world-class display will include antique, classic and modern automobiles. For 2019, a special focus will include Stutz, Allard, fin-tailed automobiles, the centennial of Bentley and the Sports Car Club of America's Diamond Anniversary. Also displayed will be vehicles on bordering cross streets.
JAKE SHIMABUKURO TO PLAY UKULELE FESTIVAL

ABOUT: Capping off the Aurora Ukulele Festival, internationally renowned ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro will perform. He will present a special “Session Notes,” a new educational exchange with the artist before the performance.
HEIRLOOM GARDEN SHOW

ABOUT: Gardeners show off their favorite heirloom flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables, important to promoting historic genetic diversity. There are no fees for exhibitors in the Heirloom Garden Show, and lectures are welcome. Visitors can check out the museum’s own antique flower garden. There will be tours of the 1846 teamster inn and tavern and the museum’s prairie.

ABOUT: Murano Midwest Gallery invites people to a party with the art each Friday during the summer, dubbed Fine Art Fridays.
