Tree, light pole hit in separate Batavia crashes

No injuries in two Batavia crashes

BATAVIA – Two drivers, two crashes – one into a traffic pole, the other into a tree – occurred four hours apart on Aug. 21, according to Batavia police reports.

The first crash involved a 2013 Nissan Frontier and occurred at 4:41 p.m. on North Randall Road at West Wilson Street, according to reports. He hit a utility pole owned by Mead Electric, reports stated.

Kevin P. Reynolds, 26, of Aurora was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, reports stated.

The second crash involved a 2001 Toyota 4-Runner and occurred at 8:07 p.m. at North Randall Road at McKee Street, according to reports.

The driver, Daniel P. Foss, 34, of West Chicago, told police he was traveling north on Randall Road when he had to make an evasive maneuver to avoid a southbound vehicle that turned left in front him, reports stated

Foss then left the roadway and struck a tree owned by BP Amoco in the 200 block of North Randall Road. The vehicle that caused Foss to swerve did not stop and Foss was unable to provide a description, reports stated.

Police did not cite issue a citation to Foss, reports stated.
