Geneva police investigating reported shooting

GENEVA – The Geneva Police Department is continuing to investigate a reported shooting at 9:13 p.m. Sept. 15 at Public Storage, 2324 Gary Lane, Geneva, according to a news release from the Geneva Police Department.

The release stated that officers found a 30-year-old St. Charles man suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck and back that was not life-threatening. The man was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he was being treated for his injuries. The man’s 26-year-old girlfriend, who was not injured during the shooting, spoke to police about the incident.

No suspect information was available, and no arrests have been made, the release stated. The preliminary investigation indicated the victim was the intended target of the shooter. Police do not believe there is a threat to the public, the release stated.

The incident remains an ongoing investigation.
