ABOUT: Tom Sharpe, drummer of Grammy-winning Mannheim Steamroller, is an award-winning composer and performer who blends classical, rock and world music. ABOUT: As the autumn colors change on the banks of the Fox River, people can still enjoy two more paddlewheel riverboat rides. The scenic trips are offered aboard an attraction that's now a facility of the St. Charles Park District. From the dock in Pottawatomie Park, passengers board for a trip that travels northward and back. Early reservations are suggested.

ABOUT: An autumn favorite is Scarecrow Festival in St. Charles. Visitors can view the inventiveness behind 100 handmade and mechanical scarecrows on display; browse the giant arts and crafts show along the river at Pottawatomie Park; enjoy live music; and take a spin on a carnival ride. Entertainment awaits at the Arcada Theatre, along with shopping and dining at attractions across town.

ABOUT: The Maple Park and Countryside Fire Protection District will host the annual Draw Down & Dance, featuring music by the band Back Country Roads. The Draw Down portion of the evening is from 6 to 8:30 p.m., followed by the dance. Tickets to the Draw Down are available from any Maple Park Fire Protection District member.
