Many factors affect scrap metal prices

SPONSORED

Have an accumulation of scrap metal you need taken off your hands?

By recycling it, you can help save energy, conserve natural resources and even make money.

Let Elgin Recycling be your one stop shop for your scrap metal recycling needs.

The full-service center’s cutting-edge processing and sorting procedures are designed to maximize output quality, allowing the company to pay a higher price for the materials that are received.

How is the amount that can be offered for your recyclable materials determined?

Elgin Recycling refers to the daily commodity market spots and spreads posted by COMEX and LME. This ensures that the company’s customers get the fair market value for their materials.

The spreads are affected by market price fluctuations, demand for a particular metal and supply levels around the world, among other variables. Some prices are posted on Elgin Recycling’s website, but are subject to change at any point. Customers can call or use the Request a Quote tab on the main page for accurate pricing.

Scrap metal is divided into two categories: ferrous and non-ferrous. Ferrous metals are those that contain iron, such as steel and stainless steel. Non-ferrous metals do not contain iron. Examples of those include copper, brass, aluminum, and lead, among others.

At Elgin Recycling, all of your materials can be recycled, whether they are considered ferrous or non-ferrous.

Visit one of the company’s four full-service recycling facilities where you can simply drop off your recyclable materials and get paid right away. If you plan on recycling metal in large quantities, you can request a pick up for free. Elgin Recycling has a fleet of flatbeds, roll-offs, and trailers waiting to meet your recycling needs.
