NORTH AURORA – A clerk at a food and liquor store was struck in the shoulder with a gun during an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night.
At 10:34 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a food and liquor store in the zero to 100 block of Lincolnway (Route 31), according to a news release from the North Aurora Police Department. Upon arrival, officers learned that a man wearing a mask entered the store armed with a black semi-automatic handgun, struck the clerk in the shoulder with the gun, and shoved him to the ground, the release stated.
The suspect ordered the clerk to open the register, took cash from the register and fled in an unknown direction, according to the release. According to police, the suspect was wearing a purple hooded sweatshirt with white lines on the shoulders and white drawstrings, red gloves, maroon pants, black shoes with white accents, and a black mask covering his face.
