ST. CHARLES – In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, new health and safety standards will be in place at the ninth annual St. Charles Jazz Weekend set for Sept. 10-13.
That includes not setting up a stage in the First Street Plaza in downtown St. Charles.
"Safety is a top priority for the event,” St. Charles Business Alliance executive director Jenna Sawicki said in a news release. “We are also excited for the event and thrilled with this opportunity to support our businesses and community. In times like these, music and art is very much needed to keep spirits and hope alive."
The St. Charles Business Alliance organizes the event. Information regarding the music lineup and venues participating will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Jazz Weekend features jazz musicians that play at venues throughout St. Charles. Past Jazz Weekends have seen high-profile musicians such as Grammy-winning saxophonist Frank Catalano, who played with the Elgin Community College Jazz Band as an ECC student in 1999.
